Facility

X-ray diffraction

The facility for X-ray diffraction of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Cologne offers state-of-the-art methods for crystal structure analysis and material characterization. With devices for single crystal diffractometry (SCXRD) and several diffractometers for powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), we cover a broad spectrum of analytical requirements - from phase identification and Rietveld refinement to structure solution of complex compounds. The platform is available to researchers from chemistry, biochemistry and related disciplines as a central infrastructure for research and teaching.
